Malaysian 4G WiMAX provider Packet One Networks (P1) has appointed local ICT firm Ingens as sole distributor in Malaysia for its 4G WiMAX modems.
Speaking on 17 April 2012, P1 chief executive officer Michal Lai said Ingens would supply the P1 4G WiMAX modems to 858 authorised resellers throughout Malaysia.
"P1's mission of 'Broadband for All' is to reach out to as many Malaysians as we possibly can; in line with the National Broadband Initiative," said Lai. "This synergistic partnership with Ingens we believe, will enable P1 4G resellers to gain the much-needed support in reaching out to all our customers even more efficiently."
"Ingens, which has more than 700 dealers nationwide, is expecting to achieve RM125 million [US$40,783,000] in total revenue with a range of 6.5 to 7.5 percent profit margin for the first three quarters of financial year ending 2012-2013," he said. "We have worked over the past couple of months to ensure the transition is a smooth one. We will further replicate our major success in the ICT hardware distribution to this strategic alliance with our experienced and dedicated team working around the clock to fulfill the differing requirements of the market and demands for quick product turnaround."
"We are excited about this opportunity and it's a privilege to collaborate with P1 in the rapid growth of broadband in Malaysia," said Ingens executive director, Low Gah Luen. "Ingens is looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership to provide a seamless distribution network and develop winning go-to-market strategies with P1."
"Under the partnership, Ingens will facilitate and revolutionise the broadband industry by distributing the full range of advanced 4G modems from P1, the world's leading 2.3GHz 4G WiMAX telco," said Low. "This includes the latest and affordable DX-230, a 3-in-1 WiMAX modem built-in WiFi, voice ports, and Local Area Network (LAN) ports for enhanced wireless 4G broadband experience."
