Malaysia's Hong Leong Bank offers 'bricks and clicks’

Malaysia's Hong Leong Bank has launched a portfolio of products and services under a new sub brand - 'Mach by Hong Leong Bank' - to cater to the younger generation of customers with a tech savvy lifestyle.

During the launch at the bank's Mid Valley Branch on 9 July 2012, Hong Leong Bank (HLB) group managing director Datuk Yvonne Chua said the bank is responding to 'a fundamental shift in consumer lifestyles especially led by the Gen Y segment.'

"Driven by market forces, Hong Leong Bank (HLB) innovates a ground-breaking dedicated engagement plan to connect with this segment by introducing the first modern lifestyle retail banking concept personified in Mach by Hong Leong Bank," said Chia.

"The brand engages the market with a new concept bringing together 'bricks and clicks' to best serve the next-generation consumers with a dedicated packaging of "life-starter" products that are adapted to their lifestyles," she said.

"While the 'bricks' capitalise on hotspot  locations for customer convenience, non-intrusive self-service experience plus the trusted comfort of financial advisor on-demand, the 'clicks' leverages on speedy and green automated processes as well as the ability to digitise traditional branch services offered via the pervasive Internet," said Chia.  

"Our two simultaneously inaugurated 'Mach by Hong Leong Bank' branches at Mid Valley Megamall and IOI Mall, Puchong today, will be available seven days a week from 10 am to 10 pm every day," she said. "Watch out for us at your city or township as we continue to expand to more convenient locations nationwide."

"With the first landmark step into this new banking landscape, we are geared to address the next generation of customers," added Chia.  "We see the Gen Y as the catalyst for change and a window of opportunity to unlocking the lifetime value of this customer segment, propelling HLB into a position to offer a choice for both conventional and the modernised Mach by Hong Leong Bank retail banking experience."
